Iranian animation ‘The Servant’ to vie in Mexican film festival

Iranian animation ‘The Servant’ has been scheduled to compete at the 2017 edition of the Cinepobre Film Festival in Mexico.

Directed by Farnoush Abedi, the animation tells the tale of a giant cockroach who gets tired of his servitude to man; a game started with no rules.

‘The Servant’ previously won the Best Animation award at the 33rd Tehran International Short Film Festival held on 8-14 November 2016 in Tehran.

Launched back in 2002, Cinepobre Film Festival is dedicated to independent films and films produced with a relatively low budget.

According to its official website, Cinepobre Film Festival is a 100% self-funded that aims to build bridges based on the belief that film becomes art only when its materials are as inexpensive as pencil and paper.

The 15th edition of Cinepobre Film Festival is slated for May 4-7, 2017 in Mexico.
